Sifto Ghost Buster Ghost Peak Impurity Capture Column
About the product
Reverse phase gradient HPLC is an essential and extremely powerful technique in liquid chromatography, but some unknown peaks, called Ghost peaks, may appear in the chromatogram, which reduces the reliability of the analysis, especially in the analysis of trace sample components.
There are many possible reasons for the occurrence of ghost peaks, including mobile phase solvents, flow compatibilizers, flow paths, pumps, filters, gradient mixers, etc. The chromatogram may contain ghost peaks from various sources, which can make solving the ghost peak problem quite challenging overall. Mainly organic impurities that absorb ultraviolet radiation in the mobile phase, these impurities will be washed out during the gradient process.

What can Sifto Ghost Buster do?
The Sifto Ghost Buster chromatographic column can effectively absorb impurities in the mobile phase, eliminating the risk of interference from the target peak by the double image peak, and making gradient analysis reliable.
When used with Sifto Ghost Buster chromatography columns, the column has a longer lifespan (main column).
Stable in a wide range of pH values, organic solvents, and aqueous buffers.
Easy to install with all HPLC systems.
install
The Ghost Buster chromatographic column is installed between the gradient mixer and the injector, which can capture most of the ghost peaks before HPLC analysis.
advantage
Effectively remove Ghost Peak
Compatible with water and organic solvents
Easy to install
Trace detection
Can be used multiple times
Not suitable for situations where Ghost Buster specializes in Ghost Peak Pillars
Ionic additive
If ion pair reagents are used in the analysis, GhostBuster chromatography columns may retain these reagents, thereby affecting the retention time and peak shape of the analysis.
Amine additives
If amine additives such as ammonia and triethylamine are used in solvents, the peak shape may change.
Note:
It should be noted that not all impurities can be removed from the mobile phase.
It is not recommended to rinse the GhostBuster chromatography column with 100% water for a long time.
The GhostBuster chromatographic column is installed between the gradient mixer and the injector. If installed like a protective pillar, the target peak may disappear.
The service life of GhostBuster chromatography columns varies depending on the analysis conditions, mobile phase, and purity.
When the results are not satisfactory, it is recommended to use a new column.
